Hyperflite Skyhoundz Championship Last Chance Qualifiers and World Championships Registration, Schedule, & Information Page

(This page was last updated on August 24, 2018.)

LCQ / WC Competitor Registration

Pre-registration is required to compete in all Skyhoundz Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQ) & World Championships (WC).

Registration: We have simplified competitor registration for all LCQ and WC with just one (1) link where you can register (and make payment) for all Qualifiers for all of your dogs! To register, please go here.

You may register your dog(s) in as many events as you like and/or compete with as many dogs as you like. However, if you have already Qualified for the Worlds in an event, you cannot compete in a LCQ with the same dog, in the same event, for practice.

Registration Deadline: Entries (for all LCQs and WCs) will be accepted up to 11:59 pm EST on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Please Note: Registration fees are non-refundable and may not be assigned or transferred.

Competitor Search: Once you have registered, you can check to confirm your registrations online here. Just type in your name and click on the search button and all your entries will be displayed. If there is anything that needs to be corrected, just contact us, and you should be good to go!

Freestyle Music: For all LCQ / WC competitors in any Freestyle Division (DiscDogathon (LCQ/WC), Skyhoundz Classic (LCQ/WC) [Open, Youth, MicroDog Open, and Pairs Freestyle]), please upload your music here.

Fees: The entry fee, for all LCQ Divisions/Classes, is $25 per team per event/class (Pairs Distance/Accuracy & Pairs Freestyle $50). There are no entry fees required to compete in the WC.

All LCQ competitors will receive one T-Shirt and competition disc per day they are competing. Registrations are non-refundable and may not be assigned or transferred. Check-in will take place 45 minutes prior to the event's start time.

Important Notes

Coolidge Park: If you arrive early to Chattanooga, please note that dogs are not usually permitted in Coolidge Park. We have special permission for dogs to be in the park for the World Championship (Friday-Sunday). So, please do not go there with your dog(s) until then.

Skyhoundz Competitor Meet and Greet: We will be hosting a competitor reception on Thursday evening at Play.Wash.Pint 6:30 pm-8:30 pm. Come hungry and thirsty my friends...Drinks will be on us at Play.Wash.Pint with a portion of the proceeds going to our charitable partner ChattaNeuter. There will be the Dem Boy's Food Truck on site where you can pick your own fixings for dinner, Clumpies Ice Cream Company for dessert, then relax with your fellow competitors and staff before the big weekend.

Awards Banquet: The "Gathering of Champions" Awards Banquet on Saturday night will be in large tent adjacent to the competition field at Coolidge Park. The tent will be available the entire weekend for you to hang out in, eat, rest, whatever.

Coolidge Park Field Setup: Competitors will be able to set their tents up on Thursday only after Skyhoundz officials give the OK to do so. Tents set up without permission, or in areas not authorized for tents, will be moved or removed.

If you would like to bring a pop-up type tent to the field(s), please feel free to do so. In fact, if you have an extra, please bring it for those competitors who may be traveling without one. You may use tent stakes at Camp Jordan and at Coolidge Park. There will only be overnight security at Coolidge Park, though competitors may choose to leave their tents set up overnight. However, regardless of security, if you choose to do so, please understand that you assume the risk of damage or theft to property that you leave out.

MicroDogs: Those MicroDog teams with existing measurement cards, who had their dogs measured when they were two years old or older, must bring their cards to the LCQ / WC where they will receive a permanent yellow Skyhoundz Measurement Card (SMC). All dogs that were measured before they were two years of age, do not have a Skyhoundz issued measurement card, or have never been measured at a LCQ / WC, must be measured before they will be permitted to compete. Once a MicroDog has been measured and passed, they may compete in all other 2018 LCQ / WC without having to be remeasured. Any MicroDogs Qualifying for this year's WC, that are found to be too tall, will be moved to the next available class.

Accommodations: Please Note — Room availability is limited in Chattanooga because of a confluence of major events taking place during the same time frame. Accordingly, if you plan on staying anywhere near Chattanooga, book your room ASAP!

Last Chance Qualifier / World Championship Competitor Rule Reminders

Competition Apparel: On the day of competitions, competitors must wear the Hyperflite Skyhoundz Qualifier or World Championship T-shirts and apparel (cool weather permitting) provided, as is, without alteration at all times when on the playing field, warm-up areas or in competitor tents. We will be filming on the field as well as conducting off-field interviews during the Qualifiers and World Championships and we will only be able to use video and images featuring our logos. So please make sure that you wear your Hyperflite apparel (And, if you wear a vaulting vest, the shirt must be worn over the vest). You may wear appropriate non-logoed (manufacturer's logo OK) athletic pants, shorts and shoes of your choosing. No props of any kind, including capes, vests or other adornments worn by canines, are permitted in competition. Non-sponsor branded bandannas will be permitted, subject to chief judge's approval.

Official Discs/Other Rules: Hyperflite is the official disc of the Skyhoundz Canine Disc Championships. As such, all discs used in Skyhoundz competitions must be genuine Hyperflite discs. See individual event rules for further disc specifics.

Sportsmanship: Although only one team can win a World Championship in the applicable Divisions, you are all winners in the eyes of your canines. So, when you're out on the field competing, don't forget to have fun with your best friend. Hyperflite will not tolerate displays of unsportsmanlike conduct at the various Hyperflite Skyhoundz Qualifiers and World Championships. We urge you to familiarize yourself with our rules regarding unsportsmanlike behavior and understand that we will have a zero tolerance policy for unseemly displays of poor sportsmanship at this family-friendly event. Treat the judges with respect and interact with them as you would want others to interact with you. Finally, please review the section on Sportsmanship in the Competition Section of Disc Dogs! The Complete Guide.

The Mickey Rule: The Hyperflite Skyhoundz World Canine Disc Championship Series is family entertainment at its finest. Families with young children attend many Skyhoundz events as competitors and spectators. A Youth Division is now part of the Skyhoundz Series. Accordingly, any musical selection, choreography, or costumes chosen by a competitor, to be used in conjunction with a Skyhoundz Freestyle routine, should be free of offensive, suggestive, or inappropriate language or themes. If you wouldn't expect to see or hear it at Disney World, you shouldn't include it in your routine at a Skyhoundz event. Please note that this rule also applies to international competitors competing with music that is in a language other than that of the Skyhoundz host country.

Competitors are responsible for previewing their music to prevent any inappropriate or profane language (even the milder words) from being played. International competitors competing at the Skyhoundz World Championship, for whom English is not a first language, should have their English-language musical selection previewed by a trusted English-speaking individual to ensure adherence to the requirements of this rule. Please do not assume that song tracks not marked as explicit, if purchased from an online music source, will be acceptable. Listen to your selection carefully. When in doubt, leave it out!

Failure to adhere to the Mickey rule, in the sole discretion of Skyhoundz, will result in administrative actions up to and including immediate disqualification, suspension from future competitions, and/or vacation of any award or qualification slot earned at an event where the competitor's conduct violates the spirit of this rule.
